      The beginning–about 2 months ago, after reading about this “Twitter” on perezhilton.com for the bajillionth time and then discussing the draw of it with Mel, I decided to log in and check it out.  Immediately I knew I was out of my comfort zone and the anxiety of being in a new and foreign technological world overtook me.  I spent about 3 minutes as a member of Twitter before deactivating my account. During the next few weeks I avoided talking about and when the topic was brought into discussion I would jump straight into defensive mode and go on a rant about how nothing could ever be better than Facebook and that Twitter just looked creepy, when inside I knew I was just trying to hide my secret fear for the unknown.

About two weeks ago—the fact that I had been sitting in my apartment for the weekend alone and that I had consumed a can of PBR that had to be at least a month old made me rethink my decision to run from Twitter.  I wanted to give it another try!  So I put on a brave face and jumped in head first, hoping it was the deep end.  Here are my mental notes on this experience.

1. oh look I can “reactivate” my account and not have to go to the trouble of trying to find a witty login name (although I am pondering the thought of using ‘fox on the run’ in the near future, so keep your eyes open for that)
2. i don’t have any friends ::panic:: I am a loser!  How do I get friends?!  JIM! Where are you!  (Jim is part of the reason I was willing to give Twitter a second shot-as he showed me how cool it could be to “tweet” from your phone and basically just brought the word “tweet” to my attention—it’s a damn cool word.  Try it…TWEET!)
3. Ok I have one friend…super—now what. Ok I type something… “Hello?”
4. ohhh now I get it, the point of Twitter is to “follow” other people so you can read their “tweets” KEWL…i still don’t know anyone…

AT THIS TIME THE PANIC OF MY FIRST TWITTER ATTEMPT IS BEGINNING TO SET IN AGAIN—BE STRONG I TELL MYSELF. BE STRONG!

1. oooo reality celebrities!  Over the next few days I find my self “following” people such as Nicole Richie, Ashlee Simpson and that chick Audrina from The Hills.  Oooo Carey Hart-check!  John Mayer? OK! Samantha Ronson and Lindsey Lohan?  HELLS YES! 
2. This is where the addiction begins to set in…when you “follow” these celebrities you feel that they are almost your friends (ok not really and I’m a complete loser for saying that but seriously it has this weird mind-hold over you and it is hard to stop!)

So now I’ve been “tweeting” random things like, “axl rose is hawt” and “I need black tights” for the past two weeks and LOVING every minute of it. I have even found a way to put my “twittering” on my MySpace page, this blog and even my phone—I swear Twitter has the ability to take over the world…someday I know I’m going to be driving down the road and see one of those digital signs in the back of somebody’s car with their latest “tweet”

Twitter reminds me of things like; Pogs, snap bracelets and Nano pets.  Something that when explained sounds absolutely ridiculous and completely useless; but in all actuality is super AWESOME!  Now I know this “fad” will probably last another month or so for me, as I have the attention span of a 5 year old off their Ritalin; but dammit!! during that month I’m going to “tweet” like no other!! (and try my hardest to get Mel to tweet as well J)

also…check out the magazine PAPER…it is my new favorite thing V. rad.

Today I officially confirmed that the best purchase I have ever made is one of those cassette adapter things for my car. I’m relatively (completely) technologically handicapped so in order to play my ipod in my car I canned it to 88 mph and went back to the 90’s.

Anyway, today my sister and I both have the day off. We tumbled out of bed, crawled to the car and made our way to the gym. On the way my sister rediscovered the light saber thing on her ipod touch.*

Once we got to there…. she kept it up. She was on the elliptical with her headphone volume up enough that I could hear having an epic battle between good and evil… or between the her and the old lady next to us that was glaring because we were having far too much fun at the gym.**

After about 20 minutes we were both tired and decided to head home…. light saber still in hand we made our way to the car. Once we got inside I remembered my casset dealy….. immediately we were on the Death Star and I was manning the controls of a VW battle pod cruising down Ford Parkway at blinding speeds…. paying particular attention to the pro-life people crowded outside of the Planned Parentood…. those bastards all went down at her hand whether they were aware or not.

We went on to discover how awesome it is to be Pac Man and that random people on the street do not seem to fully appreciate being serenaded by mini piano.

Overall…. top morning.

*This is the soul reason that I feel the need to own one.

**She also seemed rather salty about the fact that we were making fun of chubby people on the tv so either way…. we weren’t going to be friends.

A few things to start the day:

1. It rains a little and people forget how to drive?  WTF!  I had to drive behind eeeeediots this morning on my commute into work—I guess 40 is the new 55.  Common kids we live in MINNESOTA, where it SNOWS and rains and freezes—be BETTER drivers! People are retarded. I almost got into five accidents on the highway because people weren’t looking!! Azz driving day fo’ shizz.

a.       Fun Fact – When I left my house this morning I turned right on Grand and there were cops lining each side of the road… five of them. As I passed they all pulled out (the two on the other side busted U-turns even) and lined up behind me…. we drove all the way to Lexington together like a freakin’ parade. I felt hella important like I was the president or something haha.

b.       this would make me incredibly nervous and I would probably have had to pull over and cry. I freaked a bit at first, but it was far too early to care….  not to mention people were like watching and moving out of my way.  I paid my parking tickets yesterday so I was cool haha.

c.       You were right…this letter idea is way more awesome than that stupid numbering system.

d.       Also are we doing the thing where the font gets smaller with each part of the outline? Absolutely.

i.                     cus that would be neato. The neatest.

ii.                    And awesome of course. Fer sher…. It had been a while since I made a formal outline. It just felt good J 

1. I poked myself in the eye with my jumbo black eyeliner this morning—this made me mad. This made me laugh J

1. I am wearing my ridiculously BA watch—this makes me happy. THAT WATCH IS SO COOL! I even had to show my sister yesterday (since it’s on display in Bloomies directly across from the yellow purse that I must eventually own and visit… often.).  I have forgotten about “the yellow purse” maybe I should go pay my respects. Dammit, why did my C. turn blue?  There’s a grey Kooba purse that I would die for… it may have taken the lead. It’s in the case next to the yellow one I need .

a.       I like grey purses…my new Urban Outfitters purse came yesterday—just a cheapie for summer (one that I won’t care if I spill beer all over, get dirty at the lake etc…) it is grey with some sparkles on it…ya…pretty awesome.

b.      Do I have a kooba bag? I can’t remember…. I actually don’t know if you have one or not. It’s grey and it looks like it’d be nice to snuggle with… soft, grey leather…. mmmm.  It will be mine…. Oh yes.  

1. I randomly found some chick’s blog and it is all about being awesome, I’m pretty sure she stole the whole idea from us.  Send me the link so I can judge….. how dare she?! Her name isn’t “(**name deleted for  our sefety*)” is it? (barf) sheeet, I have lost the link—it should be at home, something about sara being awesome…uhhh I think NOT!  But until I get you that link check this one out http://babyanimalz.com/community/  it is ridiculously entertaining and even has a picture of the ever so elusive baby dragon!! I will check this out later… be prepared to deal with me if I decide I want a baby dragon.

a.       pet dragons would be the SHIT! We could get little harnesses for them and walk them down the street—that would be BA I wonder if walking dragons will be like walking kitties…. kitties do it wrong.

b.      I am now obsessed with looking at other people’s blog—and wondering why ours isn’t as kewl.  We need new blog topics fersure. Ours needs to be taken up a couple notches…. when I get back from being on a boat we’ll make the shiz happen.

c.       Call my werk fone with your werk fone.

1. You leave for va-cay in less than 48 hours?  I hate you. I STILL haven’t packed! I ironed the dress I’m bringing last night, but I haven’t actually packed anything yet. If you’re bored tonight wanna come over and hang out while I pack…. basically… want to help me pack so I bring things I need instead of things that are stupid? I totally need a second opinion on outfit options. Sounds like a plan Stan—I need to talk to actual people today instead of trying to carry on a meaningful conversation with my cats.  Ya come over. I’ll be doing the gym thing at 4:30 and I should be home by six. Maybe we could run over to tequilas for a drink…. I think packing will be easier after a massive mango margarita or two…. or sushi is around the corner. No one else will go for sushi with me. My sister always wants pizza. I just really don’t care for freakin’ pizza…. Punch is ok because it’s like fancy, but blah…. I really should find out if they do pick up at Saji Ya. I’ve been too chicken to ask.

a.       I love that there is a Fuji-Ya in Minneapolis and a Saji-Ya in St. Paul.  V. entertaining I think there’s actually a Fuji Ya downtown St. Paul even? I think we should take a tour. That one I can’t say is still my favorite… mostly because of the green tea tempura ice cream thing that was just ridiculous.

b.      I am just adding a B because that is an outline rule: no a’s with out b’s and no 1’s with out 2’s.  Werd. Fo’ Realz.

c.  I never thought I’d be on a boat…. it’s a big blue watery road… Posiiiiidon look at meeeeEEee….

1. My stuffed cat, Fluffy-he used to be white and soft and beautiful with a pink bow on top of his head (yes he had a pink bow, back off!) now he is sort of grey and matted and the pink bow has somehow been lost, it might still be in Katy Maki’s backyard pool thanks to Sarah.  BUT he is still a very pretty kitty and his tail still jingles when you shake it-and that’s all I need to hear to be happy. 
2. My Seaplane Pilots Association T-shirt…yea it was my dads centuries ago and it has holes and paint all over it…and it is a hideous shade of bright blue; but it is probably the coolest shirt I’ve ever owned and admit it-you are jealous when I wear it with my sweatpants and crocs…I KNOW it! *I’ll vouch for the shirt, but you’re on your own with the Crocs…
3. The newest of my favorite things: my black Frye boots.  They need no explanation they just ROCK-they look good with everything and make me look completely badass every time I wear them. Except for when I’m wearing them with sweatpants and a Burton snowboarding jacket at Target with Mel.  Then I just look like a butch lesbian, which is not badass. *Top five Target experiences… one of at least five times recently that it looked like we were an actual couple.
4. My nail clippers-I know what your thinking…this is a weird favorite thing, but the fact is that nobody else’s nail clippers can cut my nails as perfectly as my own…I have never come across a better pair, so yea… *I am emotionally attached to a set of tweezers that work perfectly. This is probably another reason we’re friends…
5. My personalized “Ashley” blankets, pillowcase and towels-because I am a princess.
6. My tiny San Francisco coffee mug that I use to mix…certain concoctions that I then forget about and taste later in things that shouldn’t taste like that…(I think only Mel is going to understand this story, sorry) *Just trust us… this is funny.
7. MY DVD of Romeo and Juliet-because everyone needs a comfort movie and this is mine…I still heart Leonardo just as much as I did in Junior High.
8. My phone: for obvious communication reasons.  I am never more than and arms reach away from it, so if I don’t answer your call or text that just means I just REALLY don’t want to talk to you.
9. My kitchen table…because it has character and nobody else has one like it.
10. My big “A” because…well because…because I am a princess dammit! *If I ever find a gigantic “B” I’m going to give it to you…….. cuz you’re pretty BA
